Robinhood employees spent the day with pets in the office as CEO and co-founder Vlad Tenev introduced his new baby Shiba Inu, Sharo.

The news first spread after Winston Garth posted a photo of Tenev and the puppy on X.

Robinhood Markets, Inc. (“Robinhood”) observed Bring Your Dog to Work Day with dogs throughout the office and an unexpected visit from CEO Vlad Tenev and his newest companion, a baby Shiba Inu named Sharo. Tenev brought the puppy in and introduced him to colleagues as they worked, stopping at desks and common areas so employees could meet him.Among those who met Sharo was Winston Garth, Manager of Crypto and Custody Operations. Garth has worked at Robinhood for two years. He took a photo of Tenev holding the small Shiba Inu and posted it on X, which is how many people first learned about the puppy’s office debut.

In the tweet, Garth @WinstonGarthNY wrote:

“Two years at @RobinhoodApp and I always knew Vlad had a real love for animals. Today was the first time I’ve ever seen him bring his dog to work — and the amount of love he has for this little Shiba, Sharo, is something else. I don’t have a dog of my own, so I really appreciate him sharing that with the team. Meet Sharo.”

Employees said the office felt different with dogs moving through hallways and sitting under desks. Some colleagues brought their own pets; others simply stopped to watch Tenev with Sharo. The puppy, still small enough to be carried easily, drew a crowd whenever Tenev paused. People who do not usually interact with the CEO in a casual setting said the visit made the day feel less like a typical workday.

Garth later described the moment as the first time in his two years at the company that he had seen Tenev bring a dog into the office. He said he had always known Tenev cared about animals, but seeing him hold Sharo and talk about the puppy made that clear in a new way. Because Garth does not have a dog of his own, he said he especially appreciated Tenev sharing the visit with the team.

Other employees echoed that the day was less about work and more about a short break in routine. A few said they had never seen Tenev so visibly attached to a pet at the office. Others posted their own photos internally after Garth’s tweet went up. No product news or company announcement accompanied the day. It was simply Bring Your Dog to Work Day, and the CEO showed up with Sharo.

By afternoon the puppy had made the rounds of several floors. Tenev continued introducing him to anyone who asked.
